Watch Where Tigers Rule starting 1st March only on Discovery Tamil

Tracking one of India’s most elusive and endangered animals, Discovery Tamil spotlights the majestic tiger through its month-long programming line-up. It will explore the evolution of the tiger, its secret behaviour, why it is such a successful hunter and the way it has adapted to very different environments.

Actor Siddharth has supports Discovery Tamil’s initiative and raises awareness about the threats facing tigers. He focuses on the role that humans can play in saving these powerful beasts. He says, “ Where Tigers Rule is a unique opportunity to observe and celebrate one of India’s most charismatic creatures. This initiative will create the passion required to save tigers from extinction. Together we have the power to improve the lives of animals in our communities and in the wild.”

The programme features inspiring tales of tiger conservationists such as Valmik Thapar, Alphonse Roy, Chris Morgan, Saba Douglas Hamilton, and Steve Backshall.

One of the episodes of the programme is called Tiger Sisters of Telia , which captures the extraordinary behaviour of four tigers in the forests of Maharashtra. Hunt for the Russian Tiger follows filmmaker Sooyong Park who spent five lonely years in Russia to get a glimpse of Siberian tigers. Belinda Wright, Valmik Thapar and Raghu Chundawat examine the latest round of tiger conservation in The Battle to Save the Tiger . Return of the Tiger reveals an intimate insight into the private lives of tigers as they rehabilitate in Sariska and encounter new challenges in their new home.

Where Tigers Rule will air from 1st to 31st March, every night at 9 p.m. on Discovery Tamil.

Over five years of loneliness and danger one man waited to glimpse Siberian Tigers, whose intimate private lives had never been filmed before. Finding a Siberian tiger in the wild is a huge challenge. The terrain is tough and their territories are vast, over a thousand square miles. Yet filmmaker Sooyong Park emerged from the frozen forests of Russia’s Far East with a unique record of over one thousand hours of tiger life. He is joined by biologist Chris Morgan who knows North American carnivores inside out, however the Siberian tigers inhabit a lawless land of bears and poachers. Now Chris reveals an amazing story of endurance as Park takes him to search for the elusive big cats.
